Grain-free waffles

On Sunday mornings the rest of the family usually has crêpes, I have my usual fruit ‘n nutty breakfast in whichever form it presents itself.

in terms of replacements, I tried coconut flour-based pancakes, but don’t like them so much. Today it was time to try grain-free waffles. The recipe came from the “30 days grain-free” book by Cara Camini and has coconut flour, eggs, honey, apple sauce, salt and vanilla.

Even though the taste is not the same, they at least they looked like the real treat to me:

The good thing about them is they are very soft and no hint of dryness (they only lasted for 3-4 hours). Also tastewise they kept their flavor. And they are rich: you cannot possibly devour a whole pack in a go, so that is perhaps useful for some to know.. 😉

Overall, another good grain-free replacement for a traditional delicacy!
